Where are you baseD?
Home is in the North of England. In our little stone house, on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales.
With both my husband & my businesses very Europe focused, you’re more likely to find us working on the continent.
In the Winter seasons I’m in the Alps. Working from my laptop, whilst enjoying the mountain air & playing in the snow!
The Summer season see’s me across Europe in sunny destinations; often in South of France, Italy, Croatia or a beautiful Greek Island.

Where do you cover?
I’m a Europe focused wedding planner.
I’d love to say anywhere! And that may be partially true, but there are certainly some destinations that resonate with me & my business.
This often has a lot to do with the setting;
wild coastlines, mountains, lakes, vineyards, sun-bleached buildings. Anywhere that isn’t too pristine, raw materials, character in abundance, stories to tell,
& above all organic nature.
In the cases where we might not be the right fit, I will certainly know a planner colleague that will be best for you.

No, I would recommend speaking to a tour operator that is better suited to this work.
My specialty is planning weddings & the surrounding celebrations, I can give advise, but I leave all the travel plans to you & the travel experts.
DO YOU CHARGE EXTRA FOR TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION?
Yes and no! Ultimately this depends on where you’re getting married, and how intensive the set-up and pack-down process is. If travel and accommodation costs are applicable, then we’ll always make you aware of this BEFORE you commit to proceeding with us.
What style of weddings do you do?
Destination Weddings are the The things my clients usually have in common is that they don’t sweat the small stuff, natures beauty is the best decoration & they prioritise quality time with friends & family over materialistic things!
What are your fees?
For the full wedding planning service, I charge 12% of your wedding budget or a minimum fee, whichever is greater.
For partial planning, the venue search or coordination services are charged as a flat fee based on your destination & specification.
What are commissions?
Commissions are something very common in the wedding and event industry where it is standard practice for an event organiser to receive compensation from vendors employed at one of her events. When it comes to weddings, however, there can be some issues associated with this practice: (1) lack of transparency & trust: some wedding planners take commissions covertly and hardly ever disclose this to their couples. This doesn’t sit right with us and we always explain to our couples right from the start how we handle commissions. This is then explained in more details throughout our proposal and contract. (2) What you pay a supplier can sometimes be inflated: a lot of suppliers need to increase their prices to you by 10-15% in order to pay a commission to the planner. So effectively, a planner that takes commissions unbeknown to you seems cost effective, but she does in effect cost you a lot more if the suppliers’ fees are inflated to accommodate her commission. Because of this, I only ever accept a commission from suppliers who do NOT inflate the price to the client.

Why do you love weddings?
In all honesty, I’m not built to be a planner, I don’t do things by the book & if your looking for a traditional wedding guru, I’m not it. What I do love is helping, guiding & seeing my clients blissfully happy with their family & friends. That’s what drives me; not bouquets, not napkins,
People & places, that’s what I’m in it for.
Why do destination wedding planners charge more?
They say the average wedding takes 150 hours to plan, I would say for destination weddings, it’s double!
It’s not always about time & care for each wedding, paying for a service is renumerating based on the knowledge & learning whilst I’ve been planning events & weddings for 10 years. And I’m forever evolving, continuing my growth & training is something I invest heavily in each year.
To top this, I run a professional business that is insured & pays tax.

How many weddings do you work on at one time?
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

I include a reasonable travel & assistant budget within my fee. However this is capped, so that the far flung locations are still possible & therefore are no limitations on destinations for you to explore!
